::sniffle::
So, I have the dreaded swine flu. I’m glad to announce that it’s really not all that bad, bar the huge acheyness and tiredness after any activity (including getting up to get tea – WOE).
Luckily, my two boys (one with four paws, one with less) have been looking after me and combined with all the well wishes and haribo I feel quite loved and special. I have, however, been completley unable to leave the house and so have taken to trawling the internet compiling wish lists in my head. And then! I remembered that it’s my birthday in less than a fortnight and so compiled a birthday wishlist instead (much more productive). And here it is:

Owly tote, $7 from rainbowswirlz on etsy. I love all things owl related, the only dilemma being what colour to choose? (I think red)

Personalised birdy necklace, $28 from polktadotmagpie on etsy. (Sadly, these don’t ship to the uk and so I shall never have one. Snif!) I should point out that I’d have one with my name on fairly obviously, not Ethan or Sofia (lovely names as they are).

Juana heels from French Connection at Kurt Geiger, £19 down from £100!! These combine every detail I could want in a shoe: super high heels, platform sole, straps and studding. I think it’s love!

Beautiful, beautiful typewriter necklace from Paraphernalia. I thought I’d lost the chance to own one of these when the seller disappeared from Etsy but then found them again recently, much to my delight. I could quite happily own every single piece from their website and never need an other necklace again.

Musical rainbow necklace, £20 from Supersweet . I might neglect my musical abilites these days, but it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t wear a reminder of them round my neck!
Phew, my little flu ridden body is exhausted now. My rants about ageism on Radio Four and musings about the ethics of clothes swapping will have to wait for another day…
p.s. (my boyfriend has an article on the Guardian website this week. Proud!

ah, luke was looking up owl tattoos the other day! Very cute on a bag too and those little bird necklaces are just darling. Nice one on finding those shoes – I can never find anything the kurt geiger wesbite… I’ve a fifteen pound giftcard I’ll never use – d’you want it? Might help with the swineflu!

An owl tattoo would be amazing. I’m terrified of the idea of tattooos but if I wasn’t, I would definitely have an owl one. Or a unicorn.
I missed your blog move and was a bit heartbroken that I thought you’d given up blogging because your writing makes me happy. And then found your new blog via twitter and was very happy and now it’s on my google reader.
I have quite good luck with KG generally, I always seem to see things I like though mostly they are of the seven inch heel guaranteed to lead to almost certain death variety. I can paypal you money for the voucher? xxx
i don’t know if giftcard still works – you’re more than welcome to it, i got it free with a magazine and won’t ever use it so don’t fret about paypal m’dear! I’ll check it out and see if it’s still in date or whatever, I don’t know if it’s hooked up to my e-mail or anything… Should have checked this out before, oh me and my big mouth :-s
God, you’re ohso right about the 7 inch heel/death scenario. they just look that much prettier when you’re doing shopping don’t they? I barely wear one pair of heels a week, and that’s because I force myself to.

And I”m so pleased I did! I ordered some stuff from Paraphenalia ages ago and was so sad to see them gone. And now, thanks to you, I can order more from them. HOoray!
I know, I found them through somebody else’s twitter and was so excited as I thought they’d disapeared!! I haven’t ordered anything yet…too poor right now! I’m glad I could be of service:) xx
Oooh la la!! Swine ‘Flu!! May you have a speady recovery.
